Charis' Evergreen R&R Camp: Leadership Training and Discipleship (LTD) Programs- LTD 1 and LTD 2 (Gr. 9-12)

Are you ages 13-17?  Are you looking to:

  • develop and renew life-inspiring friendships?

  • take a deeper dive into your relationship with God through the commitment to serving Him?

  • experience a camp of exciting activities where you team with R&R staff to support young campers?

If so, R&R's LTD program may be a fantastic fit!

Why apply for R&R LTD Programs?

The over-arching goals of R&R LTD programs are to help you:

  • develop in spiritual maturity.

  • experience God by exploring spiritual service, and

  • gain capacity to be a successful camp leader.

You can take resulting personal growth into your everyday life, and position yourself to become a R&R camp staff member.

What are the dates for LTD 1 and LTD 2?

LTD 1 and LTD 2 both run at Charis during the week of Charis’ Evergreen R&R Camp,

in 2025 – Aug. 4 – 9.

What is the difference between LTD 1 and LTD 2?

LTD 1

Are you 13 – 15 years old (Grades 8 – 10)? Are you an aspiring young leader who

wishes to explore the basics of camp leadership? If so, LTD 1 is for you!

You will attend daily training sessions led by R&R LTD 1 directors, and put leadership

principles into action by completing assigned camp program support tasks under the

supervision of R&R camp program staff. Actively participating in camp activities

alongside the campers you serve, you will have a great time! At the end of the camp

week, you will complete a leadership report that helps you reflect on all you have

learned.

LTD 2

Are you 15 – 17 years old (Grades 10 – 12)? Have you have successfully completed

the LTD 1 program? Do you aspire to be an Evergreen R&R staff member? If so, you

should apply for LTD 2.

LTD 2 specifically prepares you for the cabin leadership role. You will attend daily

training sessions led by R&R LTD 2 directors, and put cabin-leading principles into

action under the mentorship of senior R&R cabin leaders. You will share your

leadership testimony during a camp chapel session, and at the end of the camp week,

complete a leadership report that helps you assess your suitability for future cabin

leadership.

Details regarding the LTD program application process

Admittance to LTD 1 and LTD 2 is based on an application process that enables R&R LTD directors to determine program best fit.

LTD directors specifically look for applicants who evidence a:

  • personal desire to grow in their relationship with Jesus,

  • heart for serving children, and

  • a commitment to successfully participate in a team-based learning environment.

The application process requires online submission of brief answers to questions that help us get to know you better. You are also asked to identify two references who know you well. To start the application process, select the green button below.

To ensure a quality mentorship experience, R&R LTD program admittance is annually limited to 6 male and 6 female members in each of the two programs.

When to apply, and when to expect confirmation of acceptance

The R&R LTD program application portal opens on January 13, 2025.
